PARIS; je' taime

imma completely head over heels with paris.

the trip was dramatic to the point of no return (missing our flight, rented a car and drove all the way to milan... and no that's not all), and yet i wouldn't want it any other way.

paris was beautiful beyond words. i feel like imma supposed to even pay for the air we breathe because everything is just plainly wonderful. imma not even gonna start with the arts. oh my god.

to sum up this crazy wonderful trip is nearly impossible, and no matter how much moments the kodak had manage to capture, i would never forget about this trip, ever.

DAY 1 >>>

# we missed our flight to paris. it was a mere 5 minutes after the check in counter closed and the staffs won't let us in, no matter that. that was utterly frustrating, seeing that it only takes them just about 2 fucking seconds to check us in but ARGH. ryanair, go figure >(

# we found out that the next flight to paris is 6 hours later... from milan. so not wanting to wait for another 24 hours, we called up giacomo who lived an hour away to come down to the airport and helped us to rent a car (grazie mille noi hero!!!). in the end we hafta drove up all the way to milan, with the aid of his GPS, at like 2am in the morning. how absolutely CRAZY is this HAHAHA. and the ironic part is that we ALMOST missed the flight again, but thanks to daylight savings we got an extra hour and that's how we managed to fly to paris at 6.30am :D

# the first thing we did after we checked in our hostel was to sleep, sleep and SLEEP since we didn't catch a wink for almost 28 hours straight.

# the night was spent marveling at eiffel tower. we exited from trocadéro station and the eiffel was still nowhere in sight, so we were like figuring out the directions and were disappointed (as we imagined that it would come into view once we got out from the subway). the next thing i knew, we turned our heads to the right and we screamed. it was the eiffel tower, in full view, right infront of us. fucking surreal i tell eu HAHA.

all beautiful and bathing in blue light (than the usual golden brown lightnings) to celebrate the french presidency for EU, with all 12 EU stars at the base, the tower would sparkle once every hour thanks to like a kezillion flashbulbs all around the tower.

# we took a walk down la seine, taking in the amazing sights and the architectures and went to the famous champs d'elysées, stunned by the beauty of the arc de triomphe and the original omodesandou hills... the huge ass 6 storeys of heaven - louis vuitton. it was a right there right then orgasm imma tellin eu.

# i dunno if it's just me or is everything in paris seems extra pretty :)

DAY 2 >>>

# LOUVRE BABY!!! i was so xcited i couldn't even BREATHE.

when others told me it's freakin huge, i didn't realize it would literally meant HUGEASS kinda huge. we were far from finished touring the devon wing in that 3 hours, let alone the whole freaking 60,600 square metres of artsy wonderland! so obviously we'd seen the things that we ought to see (mona lisa - no matter how overrated, milo de venus, winged victory of samothrace, sarcophagus of the spouses and etc.) and also dying slaves, the breathe-taking psyche revived by cupid's kiss, madonna of the rocks (so dark the con of man... HEHE), the coronation of napoleon, la liberté guidant le peuple, the wedding at cana, grande odalisque (with very weird anatomies)... and it took us almost an hour and 23904832 turns to find the self potrait of albrecht dürer and john the good.

basically it was a very very enriching trip for my art desires. imma so happy, i could go draw a painting right now. except for the fact that i could only handle stick figures but never you mind.

# no trip to paris would be complete without a cruise down the romantic river seine, and i for one am not going back to italy without that experience, so we went back to trocadéro and dashed to the river cruise counter. they would only start the cruise tour if there's 10 people, and we only had 8 at that time, so we were screaming like those salegirls in the wholesale market, going '2 more for river cruise down the la seine!!! come on 2 more!!!' HAHA. alas, god doesn't disappoint, and a couple came to us and agreed to take the cruise so PRONTO! ANDIAMO!

imma not kidding, and i dun care how many times i'd used the word beautiful, because imma gonna use it again and again and again because river seine and the architectures surrounded it were utterly BEAUTIFUL. it's not like those stuck-in-euur-face kinda beautiful, but more of like the soft-glowing-and-haunting-eu kinda beautiful. institut de france, pont neuf, notre dame, conciergerie and so much more... the 1 hour of freezing and shivering on the top deck was hella worth it.

# on top of the world baby! we went up to the eiffel tower :D

we were having the time of our life, trying to figure out buildings and gettin excited when we got it right... i really cannot fathom why kennyboi didn't go up the tower when he was in paris *grumbles*

and of course, yes, we did crave our names on the highest floor of the tower :)

# we were about to call it a night, and were on our way back to our hostel, when a car pulled up and asked if we want to hitch a ride. we hopped on, since the hostel was pretty far from the station, and shereen was famished, so in the end the driver and his friend drove us back to paris and we dined at this traditional french restaurant and it was definitely a great experience... until the driver started drinking way too much whiskey and he wouldn't stop much to our dismay. we were on the way back and mimi was sitting on top shereen's lap since there's 4 of us in the backseat, and while we were passing by notre dame, a police car stopped us!!! the horror, oh god.

they saw mimi popping out i guess, and they were inquiring the driver when they smelled alcohol off the 2... bad bad bad. we were chased out of the car and was ordered to go home by ourselves... it was freezing, at dawn breaking 4am and we could only ran off to the nearest taxi.

# just when we thought dramas were over, Mr Drama proved us wrong again. we had the WORST taxi driver IN THE ENTIRE GALAXY - who refused to acknowledge that he took the wrong way (even with the use of GPS) and kept blaming our address. 'this address, no good! not my problem' he would stuck his nose up in the air and spatted. DUDE, bad address isn't even our fucking problem either, its fucking france's problem! and then overcharging us (asked us for 31euro when the meter was 28euro), and he wouldn't fucking switch the meter off even after we stopped. the worst was that he told us a price completely different before we boarded and boyyyyy we were in so much anger imma surprise the taxi wasn't engulf in flames.

he even tried to lock us in when we tried to get out, and in the end mimi managed to pry the door open and we got out, with him charging at us like a maniac. in the end shereen shoved him 10euro, without knowing that mimi had threw him 25euro in the face. this fucker in the end got away with 35euro which he did not fucking deserve, and STILL flashed his finger at us! what guts! by all lighting strike means, i hope he meets with a horrible horrible ancident that flatten out his fucking taxi. grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

DAY 3 >>>

# last full day in paris, so we gotta turn the tourist mood full back on. first stop is back to the louvre, hoping to see a few pieces of art that we missed, but it was closed :( so we walked to rivoli and strolled down to galaries lafeyette, hopped on a bus and to musee d'orsay.

just for these paintings...

yes. i pined, i burnt, i perished.

i FINALLY get to see monet's nympheas. this is one of my favorite paintings in the whole wide world and seeing it infront of my eyes is crazily surreal.

mr. van gogh and monet make me a very happy girl :)

# busking in gothic cathedral-ness - NOTRE DAME.

gothic cathedrals... what can i say. i got my breathe taken away by duomo in milan, but seeing notre dame was a whole new different experience. it's heartbreakingly beautiful.

whoever cannot find their peace here ought to be shot.

# shopping at champs d'elysées and mimi dropped her phone unfortunately :( we almost got into physical fight and stabbed by a homeless guy with a broken beer bottle haha. dramas. god.

# back to rivoli for KOREAN DINNER. i know, we are so asian it's not even funny but eu can't really blame me. there's no korean restaurants in venice, and i was absolutely DYING without a dosage to the lil korean in me. paris cured that itch and it was HEAVEN - that 김치찌개 and 불고기밥 i had. AHHHHHH 대~한민국!!!

DAY 4 >>>

woke up early to head back to my home - the château de versailles!

i just don't get why the fuck all the louises (yes, that means all the XV and the XVI and the WHATSNOT) need such BIGASS house FOR? there were WAY too many rooms and the GARDENS, yes the fucking gardens with private ponds and whatsnot, WHY! i get that they are rich and they are royalties but dude いくら贅沢でも there's a limit!

# picked up souvenirs near the palace and rushed our ways to airport, and no we didn't miss our flight this time round :)

i lost count of the times i'd used the word 'beautiful', 'pretty', 'breathe taking' and whatsnot. it was a chaotic, dramatic and crazy trip filled with tonnes of laughters, and many moments with our breathes taken away. to quote from some sappy old guy...

'life is not about how many breaths eu take.

it's about the number of moments that take euur breath away!'

paris took my breathe away, right there, right then :) je'taime!
